Pig Flu - What is it and how does it spread?

The current threat (the Mexican Swine Flu) stems from a human flu virus, not from a swine flu virus. It is a human flu virus mingled with swine flu and probably also with bird flu virus variants. The scientific nick name of the dangerous virus family is A/H1N1.

The virus spreads like any ordinary flu virus very easily among humans. It spreads through the air and keeps sticking on surfaces for several days. You might inhale it simply by breathing, or you might incorporate it some time after touching a surface with the contagious virus on it.

How to prevent an infection:

1. Avoid travel into areas with swine flu outbreaks.
2. Avoid gatherings or crowds
3. Avoid physical contact
4. Wash your hands with soap when entering your home or office and before eating or drinking.
5. Carry a hand sanitizer
6. Wear a surgical mask
7. Build your immune system!!! (Ask the doctor for details)
8. Put together Swine-Flu Preparedness Kit that should include:
1. Disposable Respirator Masks
2. Disposable Gloves
3. Anti-Fog Full Protection Goggles
4. Hand Sanitizer
9. Although vaccines for some strains of the flu are effective and may reduce the flu symptoms, the continual mutation of the virus makes full immunity difficult to achieve.

What should you do when feeling infected?

1. Check with doctor
2. Use throwaway tissue when sneezing or coughing
3. Wear a surgical mask in public to avoid spreading the virus
4. Drink water and herbal teas, consume soup, and avoid alcohol
5. The seasonal flu vaccine may help a person infected with the swine flu by avoiding mixing the two flu types and thus creating a dangerous pandemic strain
